More roof truss work.

Yesterday saw more roof truss work and delivery of the steel support beams for above the alfresco doors and above the front portico.
We probably wont see any more action until Tuesday due to the long weekend.

Roof trusses started.

Our roof trusses were started today. A crane rocked up to lift the support beams for the Alfresco and garage and then the actual trusses.
The trusses seam very fiddly, especially where the rooms arent squared off, and the carpenters spent most of the day on the back section of the house.

Our windows, sliding doors and door frames were also delivered today.

Frames up

Our frames were 99% completed today. The carpenters left a lot of gear here so I dare say they will be back tomorrow (weather pending) to finish of the frames and hopefully knock the trusses over.

I cant describe how excited we feel. We had a decent walkthrough after they had left and could finally truly visualise what we will have. Its quite breathtaking and makes all the planning, organising and waiting, well and truly worth it. :)

Also, we chose the 2.7m ceilings and man they are big. I feel like an ant standing next to the frames.

Scaffolding started

A bit of a slow day today for us. We had a scaffy turn up and install part of the scaffolding for the Beams for the garage/alfresco.
Unfortunately the frames were placed in his way so he couldnt finish what had to be done. Also had the recess box for the gas hot water system dropped off. Hopefully see some carpenters here tomorrow.

Tank delivered

Heres some more pics of the slab all nice and dry. Expecting the plumbers tomorrow and hopefully frame delivery this week?
The first progress payment was also made yesterday. Masterton didnt muck around. They had the invoice in the post the same day the slab was poured. Thats fine because I didnt muck around either. The payment was made within 1 hour of receiving the invoice.

We also had our 10K Litre water tank delivered today.

We have a slab!

Our slab was poured yesterday. The concretors started at around 6:30am and the slab was poured by 10:30am. Just as they finished pouring it started raining which delayed the finishing off by about an hour. The concretors did a great job and were super fast and efficient without affecting quality.

We also counted 9 truckloads of concrete at around 50 cubic metres!
