Bricks 2/3 done.

I didnt post on the blog much this week as it would've been too boring if I did it every day.
We had brickies here Mon, Tue, Wed & Thur and they completed about 2/3 of the brickwork.
Nothing happened today (Friday) as I dont think tradies like working much on Fridays, even the weather was perfect..
However, big thumbs up to the brickies for doing a quality job.
And a big thumbs down to our Construction Co-ordinater at Masterton for not replying to my emails or taking responsibility regarding the house tiles not being installed before the wrap, thus causing about a 2-3 week delay on our build time.  :(

House wrapped and Granite guard started

It rained pretty much all day Thursday but the guys were here to completely install the Enviroseal wrap and the pest man was also here to install the Graniteguard pest treatment system. It looks like the pest man finished about 3/4 of the way through as it probably got too wet to work.
Nothing happened yesterday as it was also too wet. The ground has turned into a big clay slosh pit causing the ground to soften under the piles of bricks which caused a lot of them topple over which in-turn, fell on to the house and causing rips and holes in the Enviroseal wrap. Luckily, the bricks didnt hit any windows.

Bricks started.

The brickies were here today and they finished the first course of bricks.

Tomorrow morning we should see the pest treatment system installed, the Enviroseal wrap put on and the brickies back to hook in again.

Hope the rain holds off (forecast: Showers).

Sand & cement delivered - Plumbing inspected

Last Friday (05.10) saw the internal plumbing finished off. I noticed the plumbers knocked out the noggins and ran pipework where our shower niche was meant to be in the main bathroom. This will need to be rectified.

Saturday (06.10) saw delivery of the Sand for the brickies.

Today (08.10) saw delivery of the cement and ties also for the brickies as well as the internal plumbing inspection.

It also occurred to me that they are running out of time to do the Enviroseal wall wrap.
Which also didnt make sense as I always thought they would be doing the roof first then the wrap so the brickies can work on the exterior and at the same time, the internals would begin.
Spoke to the SS and he said he didnt notice it in our Tender but he has still arranged for the brickies to come on Wednesday to do the first course of bricks. Then the termite treatment system will be installed on Thursday, as-well as the the Enviroseal wall wrap.
I don't think the 4 week contract reduction will be honored because I cannot see how the internals can start at the same time as the brickies, especially if there is no roof to protect the internal work??? :(

Bricks delivered - Internal Plumbing done

The plumbers were back today and completed the internal plumbing for the water and gas lines.

Also, to our surprise our Vanilla bricks were delivered today aswell.
I spoke to our site supervisor and he told us that there is meant to be 9000 bricks!!

He also said that the brickies should be here next wednesday to get started.

In the man-time we should see a delivery of sand and the house wrapped.
I was really hoping the roof would be done first as we are expecting rain next week. Oh well.....

External door frames in - Frames/Trusses tidied.

The carpenters were back today and tidied up the frames and trusses and also installed the Front and Laundry door frames.

They took all their gear so not sure when they will be back to install the beam over the garage or the Alfresco stacker doors and frame?

Now waiting for the next stage.

Trusses complete - windows in

The carpenters went flat stick today. They dropped the alfresco steel beam in place, finished off the roof trusses and installed the windows.
Looks like they will be back tomorrow to install the door frames and place the steel beam above the garage

Also, paid the second progress payment today. Now the interest rates kick in again.
