The concretors were back at it this morning and all the formwork and reo is 100% complete.
We are now ready for our slab to be poured which is booked in to start at 6:30 tomorrow morning.
They reckon there will be around 6-7 truckloads of concrete.
We also had the termite protection barriers laid around the plumbing (last 3 pics).

Pre-concreting - 90% done
We had the concreters here from the crack of morning. They managed to get most of the formwork and reo done and all the waffle pods in place.
Not sure if they will be back tomorrow or if they will just get here early to complete everything before they pour on Thursday.
Now this has been done, it looks huge.

Good to go
Just had a visit from the SS and reckons the piering holes look right. He also told me that the waffle pods should be dropped off tomorrow morning and the concretors will be back to finish the formwork and at this stage it looks like they will be pouring the slab this coming Thursday. :)
Of course this is all depends on the engineer and the certifiers inspections tomorrow.
Heres hoping.

Collection Wells - Stage 4 - Completed.
The collection wells were plumbed into our septic tank yesterday and I back filled (by hand) the pipe and the top section around the new tanks.
Its starting to look a little bit more tidier now.
I pumped out some more of the water from out of the peering holes and they dont seem to be filling in in too much of a hurry.
Spoke to our SS and we are booked in for this Tuesday to have the holes concreted and our formwork finished.
Fingers crossed, we might see our slab poured by the end of this coming week.

Collection Wells - Stage 3
Back into it today. We got the left over clay fill moved from out the front as-well as a couple more loads of clay/soil which has opened up the area a fair bit and exposed our septic tank.
We also dug a trench from the septic tank to the collection wells, ready to be plumbed in tomorrow morning.
We also bored deeper into the peer holes and managed to get a solid wall and no water/gravel filling/collapsing in.
Looks like the 4 problem peering holes can now be filled with concrete and we can get back on track.
If we are lucky, we might hopefully see the holes filled in this week and the form-work completed, ready for a pour early next week. That would be ideal and would mean a total set-back of only 1 week.
Edit: I spoke too soon :(
Just went and checked the holes and 2 are good but 2 are still taking on water.
This is getting frustrating.

Collection Wells - Stage 2
Unfortunately I didnt get a chance to post our update yesterday. Everything has been hectic lately. Between juggling the building project, running and keeping up with my business, trying to keep the family happy, and after digging heaps of soil and moving concrete all day, I took the afternoon off, had a couple of beers and a few games of pool with my mates. So I intentionally ignored the computer for a while.
Anyway, Yesterday morning (31.08.12) our Collection Wells were delivered and craned into the hole ok.
After a fair bit of digging I managed to find our septic outlet, ready to 'tap' a pipe to the new collection wells which will be done early-to-mid this coming week.
Also, as a safe gaurd, we 3/4 filled the new collection wells with water and had 2 loads of concrete poured externally around the tanks, in the base of the hole. The concrete filled up approx 400-500mm from the base of the tanks, which should make for a good anchor and stop the tanks from 'floating' or 'bobbing up' if too much rain/water was to enter the excavated hole.
This has been known to happen and can be a very annoying and costly exercise to rectify.
We also back-filled around the new tanks which used up a good portion of the red-clay fill that I had left over.
Today (01.06.12) will be taken up with moving our huge mound of top soil to my mates place, storing it until we are ready to use it for landscaping later on.
Doing this will open up the area where I need to dig a trench to connect the septic to the collection wells and also to re-route our storm-water overflow and once done, we should be sorted out and back on track with Masterton.

Collection Wells - Stage 1
The collection well hole was dug out today. Had to dispose of about 10 loads of fill. (Lucky Ive got mates with property.)
Its a good sized hole too. Approx. 5.5 long x 2.6 wide x 2.0 deep.
Its all ready to go for the tanks to get dropped in tomorrow morning.
